Agreed. But why must it be at the world level? Certainly our country has the same issues. Recently I heard a national podcaster state that the left and right are loyal to their own tribes. It’s true and won’t change until each tribe can live amongst and understand the other.

This is an excellent essay. I hope that your son has found something other than the couch. My days and months after college were as a volunteer researcher at the local historical society. I did my share of research, started to write history articles for the quarterly journal. Plus there were bookshelves to put together and file cabinets to repair. Then my first job was at Radio Shack and I hated that.
